Hiromi The Trio Project featuring Anthony Jackson and Simon Phillips - MOVE

"MOVE" is the latest work of Hiromi Uehara's trio. The trio is named as "Hiromi The Trio Project featuring Anthony Jackson and Simon Phillips." They put out the first product in last year, and "MOVE" is the second. I am so glad to listen to their sound again. In 2011, their exciting performance shook me in two concerts, TOKYO JAZZ FESTIVAL 2011 and the closing day of concert tour in Japan.

First track, the same name as the album title, is started by Hiromi's piano. When the sound of Anthony and Simon overlapping, I am moved to the trio's world. Just like a water slide, cool and dynamic sounds surround me, stimulate me. I am surprised by how the sound is thick and deep. How many sounds are overlapping? We know that they use three types of instruments, a piano, a contrabass guitar, and drums. In spite of that, I feel it's more than number of instruments in reality. The thickness and depth more intensively surprised and excited me in concert.

The word of "move" is interesting and inspires me. I move, move someone, move someone's heart. Hiromi moves around the world and many music fans (includes many jazz cats) are moved by her music. I think "MOVE" expresses her life as musician. By the way, in Japan we can see the trio performance on November and December, 2012. Very happy to touch the impressive play of the triangle again. I am in the joy of my heart and will be moved by "MOVE."
