Summer Tones

The exhibition "COLOR-HUNTING" is held at 21_21 DESIGN SIGHT in Tokyo. We can experience various things about COLOR. Titled "Summer Tones," the work is most impressive for me. Wind bells with indigo dyed strips play good sounds and swing in the air. So to speak, I can hear the color, I can see the sound. Color of strips changes from indigo to white by gradation. "Tone" is translated as "音色" into Japanese: "音" means sound; "色" means color. So, we can experience sound and color by several tones. That is the theme of this work "Summer Tones," I think.

TM NETWORK CONCERT -Incubation Period-

TM NETWORK performed on April 24th & 25th, 2012. In this concert the performance based on the original story "Incubation Period" written by Tetsuya Komuro. Sound, staging and lyrics were related to the story. Almost all songs were released in past times, but the selected songs can be interpreted for this story.

"Incubation Period" is SF story. Three aliens--look like the members--set foot on the earth and look around the world. They had viewed many events: friendship, goodbye, love, war, cooperation and disaster. What they have seen is human being.

"Incubation Period" included many riddles. All the riddles were not solved; some remain a secret and others gives way to the new mystery. The story is ongoing. We can imagine the missing pieces of the story watching the video of the concert.

"Globe" is one of the famous pop/rock/electro group in Japan. We can listen to the songs remixed by the members in EDM (Electronic Dance Music) style. Track 1-9 remixed by Marc Panther; track 10-11 by Tetsuya "TK" Komuro. The songs by remixed by Marc are similar to major EDM in the world. On the other hand, TK follows his own course. He said that when he was inspired by a certain song, he didn't analysis the song and he composed music along the sound playing in his memory. Well, you can enjoy the original EDM he called "TKEDM."
