Zedd STAY+: COLLABORATIONS WITH SINGERS, REMIXES, AND MEGA NONSTOP MIX

The first album I bought in 2018 is STAY+ of Zedd, one of the most famous electronic music DJ/producers around the world. The album consists of the songs which Zedd created or participated in as a guest or remixer and are remixed by others. The songs are largely not included in his original albums.


Zedd and Alessia Cara – StaySTAY+ is prepared for Zedd lovers in Japan. People worldwide can download it or listen to it on Spotify or Apple Music. New song is not included in it. However, I think that it is an unique, characteristic compilation album. I will introduce three features of STAY+ to you: collaborations with some singers, remixes, and original nonstop mix.


Zedd and Liam Payne – Get LowThe first is that the album includes the impressive collaborations: Stay with Alessia Cara, Get Low with Liam Payne, Candyman with Aloe Blacc, Break Free with Ariana Grande, and Starving with Hailee Steinfeld and Grey. The singing voices of all the singers you can listen to in this album are distinct and beautiful. Enjoy the colorful voices.

Zedd]Secondly, you should listen to the dynamic remixes: Stay remixed by Yasutaka Nakata, who is a famous electronic music DJ/producer in Japan, and Get Low remixed by KUURO, a young electronic music duo consisting of Jordin Post and Luke Shipstad. In addition, you can listen to the song remixed by Zedd: Let Me Love You, originally performed by DJ SNAKE and Justin Bieber. I think that the structure of this Zedd remix is like progressive rock such as Yes.



Zedd and Aloe Blacc – CandymanOne more notable thing is that Zedd Mega Nonstop Mix has a role to close STAY+. The mix includes his signature songs such as Find You and Spectrum with Matthew Koma, I Want You To Know with Selena Gomez, Stay The Night with Hayley Williams of Paramore, and Clarity with Foxes. I am impressed by a series of the attractive voices. You will be impressed, too.

LINKIN PARK LIVE AROUND THE WORLD: MY PLAYLIST STARTS WITH POINTS OF AUTHORITY AND ENDS WITH THE MESSENGER

I chose 13 songs from Linkin Park’s live album series Live Around the World to make my playlist. The series contains the songs which the band had performed on various stages. You can listen to the studio version in four albums from the debut album Hybrid Theory to the 4th album A Thousand Suns.

One of my favorite LP songs is Points Of Authority included in Hybrid Theory. This song has the role to start my playlist. Mike Shinoda, who is a rapper, guitarist, and keyboard player in the band, had performed the new rap at the start of the song in this version. The new rap sharply passes a torch to the original rap. The stream of the highly condensed words makes me so excited. Make some noise!

The last song in the playlist is The Messenger included in A Thousand Suns. Chester Bennington’s singing voice is very tough, beautiful, and tender. I love it. In the simple and gentle sounds, his song sounds sweet to me and resonates with my heart. He said “Sing along with us!” and then the audience sang along with him at the end of the song. It had finished up with the voices of Chester and many LP lovers. So impressive.

We can enjoy listening to Krewella’s new EP "Ammunition"

Jahan Yousaf, a member of Krewella, said "krewella is back? nah we’ve been here all along" on her Twitter page. Krewella, an electro/rock duo by Yamine and Jahan Yousaf sisters, released the new EP Ammunition on May 20. I love their new songs and celebrate their new departure as Krewella.

This EP includes 6 songs: Beggars, Broken Record, Marching On, Surrender The Throne, Ammunition, and Can’t Forget You. I am impressed strongly by Marching On, Surrender The Throne, and Can’t Forget You in particular. I want to shout the impressive phrase "We’re marching on!"

They delivered the message "We hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed creating it" to their fans called "Krew".

Stella.J.C – Stronger Every Day

Stella.J.C, a pianist and composer, released the song Stronger Every Day in Japan. I am in love with her sound and melody in this song. Three musicians play: Wouter Hamel as vocal, Yusuke Hirado on keyboard and Shingo Sekiguchi on guiter.

Stella.J.C will release the album in 2016. I know little about her. However, I am looking forward to her new sound.

AVICII – Sunset Jesus

AVICII's new album Stories was released on October 2. Sunset Jesus is my favorite song in this album. The sound of the remix version of Dear Boy, one of his songs, is included in it. I want to dance and sing along to synthesizer riff of this song.

Zedd – True Colors

Zedd’s new album True Colors was out. I want all of music lovers to listen to the album. He does not delivered his music to limited listeners, but persons who love both popular music and EDM. I hope that you will listen to some songs taken from the album if you are interested in popular music. Let me introduce my following text about my favorite songs included in this album:

Transmission [feat. Logic & X Ambassadors] Sounds like popular music which caught on the world in the late 20th century, for example, Jamiroquai. However, the synthesizer sound in this song is generated with software in 2010's.

Sound of software synthesizer such as reFX NEXUS2 has updated at short intervals. Old-time hardware synthesizers may not be able to generate the present electronic sound. You can taste present progressive sounds in this song.

Papercut [feat. Troye Sivan] I visualize a calm sea when listening to the early part. I do not see any waves. Troye’s song is like a monologue. The voice is floating away into a blank space.

The mode is switched in the latter part of the song. The sound changes to being dynamic. You will be swallowed by the world of the attractive sound. His song is like a dialogue for a significant other.

Daisy Your heart will be melted slowly by the voice of Julia Michaels and strings which is conducted by Ron Fair. Julia’s soft voice matches the melody written by Zedd.

All of the melodies are impressive. I love the melody of the part “When you running, running…” in particular. A stream of the melodies is beautiful and comfortable.

I Want You To Know [feat. Selena Gomez]



Selena Gomez joins the song as a vocalist. Her voice and Zedd's synthesizer sounds go head-to-head and glitter as the sparks fly. Synthesizer sounds flow throughout my body like blood. My body is suffused with the sounds. Want to dance!

Addicted To A Memory [feat. Bahari]



The synthesizer sounds in this song look like flying pieces of a block of ice broken with something acuate such as a pickel. The sounds include Bahari's voice and lead to the atmosphere like a religious festival. Believers worship electronic sounds.

Beautiful Now [feat. Jon Bellion]



I want to sing along to the impressive phrase "BAH BAH BAH BABABAH BAH BAH BABABAH BAH BAH BAH BABABAH BABABABA" with all of music lovers. The phrase is repeated and mixed with strong bass drum to touch listeners' heart.

TM NETWORK Set Foot on the Earth to Investigate a Human Life

TM NETWORK, one of the famous Japanese bands, began their career as a professional musician on April 21, 1984. They has tried different genre of music such as rock, electro, funk, and Latin music.

Breaking the rest period, TM NETWORK restarted on March 20, 2012. The band appeared on the charity concert ALL That LOVE -give&give- for victims of the Great East Japan Earthquake. The concert turned the hands of a clock of TM NETWORK.

In parallel with the charity concert TM NETWORK prepared the new concert. The concert TM NETWORK CONCERT -Incubation Period- was held on April. They built the following concept for the stage: the members of TM NETWORK come from the space. Their mission is to investigate how people on the earth live and what they think and to report them to the brain of their mother ship.

The new song I am was released on the same day as the concert. All of FANKS, which means the fans of TM NETWORK, were so glad to listen to new song after an interval of about five years! By the way, Mike Smith, ex-Limp Bizkit, plays guitar for this song.



The term for TM NETWORK as an investigator is 30 years. They have performed the mission since 1984. They have to pass a torch to next investigators. In 2012, they began to instruct their followers for a new investigator.

The concert TM NETWORK FINAL MISSION -START investigation- was held on July, 2013. Three new investigators appears on a rural town in U.S. in 1950's to try to watch a human life. People are close to the newcomers including the investigators, but some conservative persons did not trust them and then attacked them. The investigators recognized that it is also one of human behavior. TM NETWORK waited and saw how the new investigators move.

Many investigators came to the earth in several time and place. They committed the human life and history. If a superior human being, as it is called a genius, such as Einstein and Leonardo da Vinci were be an investigator, we can think that they came to the earth to contribute to development of a human life. However, it is not related whether it is famous or not. A person standing at your side may be one of investigators...



On April 22, 2014, TM NETWORK released two new works: the single LOUD, and the album DRESS2. The album includes the songs newly recorded with recent electronic sound. The new recording is called "reproduction" by TM NETWORK. Some songs such as GET WILD, the most famous in TM NETWORK songs, changed to EDM (Electronic Dance Music) style.

The stage was changed in 2014. TM NETWORK has created what appears to be an android in the mother ship. The concert tour TM NETWORK 30th 1984- the beginning of the end unveiled the process of the creation.

At the same time, the story about a baton was started in this concert. The baton is a symbolic item for an investigator. All the investigators have the baton, and pass it on to some followers when their term is finished. TM NETWORK passed one of the batons on to something like an android they created in the mother ship. They delivered it with the baton to the earth.



TM NETWORK released the album titled QUIT30 on October 29, 2014. The album includes two suites: QUIT30 suite and CAROL2014 suite. The former consists of eight songs and expresses the story for the rest concerts. On the other hand, the latter is the new version of the CAROL suite, which is composed in 1988 and consists of four songs.

The concert tour TM NETWORK 30th 1984- QUIT30 started along with the release of the album. This tour had finished on January, 2015. The stage was managed with the QUIT30 suite at the core.

The story traveled in Yokosuka, Jakarta and London. A huge amount of information are projected to the big LED screen. The story spoke some answers for the riddles which had sent by TM NETWORK and left some implication.



A month after the last day of the TM NETWORK 30th 1984- QUIT30 tour, the concert TM NETWORK 30th 1984- QUIT30 HUGE DATA was held on February, 2015. The stage was managed with the CAROL2014 suite at the core.

The CAROL suite and CAROL2014 suite were mixed at the stage. The woman, who stood on stage in 1988 and played the lead character in the story CAROL, appeared in the screen. She talked about CAROL and sent a message for TM NETWORK and FANKS.

The three-years-long project was quit by the concert TM NETWORK 30th FINAL on March, 2015. At the start of the concert, Tetsuya Komuro, who is a producer/keyboard player of TM NETWORK, threw a baton out the window of a jet plane in the screen. A baton fell and went somewhere else.

At the last scene of this concert, TM NETWORK handed over the baton to the audience. What does it mean? FANKS received the baton, that's to say, received the mission to investigate a human life on the earth. All of FANKS are also an investigator. The investigation by TM NETWORK had finished and then the new investigation by FANKS started.

Krewella – GET WET

You can listen to all the songs in Get Wet, which is the debut album of Krewella, on their SoundCloud page. The album is accessible on the internet for free, but I payed for a disc because I have been impressed by the songs. It is my expression about a good piece of work.

I love the Dubstep/Drum and Bass sound in Get Wet. The Krewella sound makes me excited, makes me “feel alive.” Even if you have never listened to the sound, it is sure to make you excited.

Two impressive singers, Jahan and Yasmine, are like vocalist in a rock band. Powerful and emotional. Krewella is categorized as EDM, but they cut across the boundary between two genres of music: EDM and rock music.

You can watch the video of four songs: Alive, Live for the Night, Enjoy the Ride and Human. You will enjoy the unique stories with impressive music on the videos.

I was moved by the video of Human, which is like a documentary video about Krewella. They express their feelings including the negative in this video. I think that the scenes is related to the line of the lyrics “I’m only human.”

deadmau5 – The Might Be Coffee

The Might Be Coffee, which is performed by deadmau5, told me the attraction of EDM. I have listened to many EDM songs around the world since I knew this song.

I love the repeating bass drum sound of this song. Deep, thick and dense. The bass drum evokes an appeal of a main theme on synthesizers.

Paramore – Fast In My Car

I want to jump when I listen to the following song. Fast In My Car is the opening song on Paramore's latest album named Paramore. I think that this song promises to make you enjoy with the self-titled album. Paramore is running. We can enjoy their music.

Paramore – Ain't It Fun -Dutch Uncles Remix-

Dutch Uncles Remix shows that the melody is beautiful and amiable in Paramore's song. The sound enhances the melody. I am interested in the way of the sound overlapping in this version. Impressed by the sound constructed by some synthesizers. Very bright, very comfortable.

LINKIN PARK – THE HUNTING PARTY

I am listening to The Hunting Party, the new album of LINKIN PARK in 2014. The sounds featuring guitars are thick and heavy. We can get the energy from the heavy sound. Beautiful melody is one of the main features of LP music. The feature is also expressed in this album.

LP is not a young band, but not an old man of rock music. The Hunting Party is produced with the style like the LP style in the early years. The style is LP's core, but not a rehash of the old style. Aggressive, but intelligent. Heavy, but beautiful.

The new album TETSUYA KOMURO EDM TOKYO was released. This work is produced by Tetsuya Komuro, a famous keyboard player/producer in Japan. Two keywords are featured in this album: EDM and TOKYO. EDM is a common word for dance music lovers around the world. TOKYO will be a hot topic for all over the world because this city is site for the 2020 Summer Games.

Rhythm tracks are heavy and thick in this album. Feel so good. We can dance in this impressive sound. This is the EDM. This is the EDM put out from TOKYO to the world. AVICII – True: Avicii by Avicii
